Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Funding & Eligibility

Navigating DVA-funded home care programs can be complex. We provide clear guidance on eligibility, assessment pathways, and how to access the support you’re entitled to as a veteran or war widow(er) in Western Australia.

Who Qualifies for DVA-Funded Care?

Eligibility for DVA-funded home care is primarily based on your service history, entitlement cards, and an assessed need. Veterans with a Gold Card or White Card, as well as war widow(er)s, may qualify for various DVA programs. An assessment will determine the specific support required to help you remain safely at home.

Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) Program

The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program provides low-level support services to eligible veterans and war widow(er)s. It typically covers personal care, domestic assistance, home maintenance, and respite care. Access usually begins with a self-referral or GP referral to a VHC Assessment Agency, which then determines the appropriate services.

How We Work with DVA

Pragma Home Care is a DVA-approved provider, meaning we are registered to deliver services funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. We streamline the process by coordinating directly with DVA, managing billing, and ensuring your care plan aligns with DVA program requirements.
